Cared For

You could call this a pictorial happy things entry, but it's specifically about kind things that people have done for me over the past couple of months.

 

1) Andrea arranged a great birthday outing to the capital with colleagues Steve, Betsy, and Lydia. Tania joined us and brought her own goodies. We had a picnic on the beach at dusk, then went to Dairy Queen. I got a mango cheesecake blizzard.

2) Friends from home sent me the most amazing care package ever! I won't even begin to try to list everything that was in it, but it was so uplifting. It wasn't supposed to be a birthday care package exactly, but it came shortly after, so it kind of stretched out the birthday fun.

3) I think I mentioned this already, but this new class of students gave me a new shirt! This one actually fits, but the last one is oversized cozy. They actually heard me talking about the shirt that the previous class gave me, but they didn't understand that I already had one, so they brought me another. I was tickled navy blue.

4) And Lydia, a four-month intern, would regularly leave me messages in our shared classroom as she was finishing her class and I was starting mine. This was the grand finale. It was actually an activity that her students did, and she added the "We love Kendra" bit and the monster pictures at the bottom. She's delightful, and I miss her.

I am so loved.
