I'm a little more tuned into history after having taught it for the last seven months. But I'm still discovering the history in this part of the world! Since arriving in Dubai, I've had an urge to study out Biblical history on the AP! I ran across this map in an art gallery the other day. It was more than a little out of my price range, but it made me wonder what things this plot of land has seen.

I have my eye on more books on the history and culture in this part of the world. I drooled over some of them in the bookstore the other day and wanted to use some of the fun money people have given me to get some of them, until I remembered that I don't have any more space in my luggage to cart around books. Maybe this summer!
