One of my new favorite things to do is to lie in bed and go to sleep listening to music that lifts up Jesus. (Okay, I confess that I smile and usually listen when "Taylor, the Latte Boy" and Pirates of the Caribbean come up, too.) Thought I'd share some of my late great favorites, albums and songs . . .
Okay, that's just a smattering. There are so many more that I love.
1) Pretty much everything on "Come" is rich and worshipful and lends itself to intercession. (Of course I'm biased, since it's my brother's album. Full disclosure here!) If you're considering purchasing, keep in mind that the case and liner are beautiful and rich themselves; you're missing out if you only buy the MP3 version!
2) "Counting Stars" is thought-provoking. My favorite song may be "God of My Fathers."
3) Handel's Messiah is Scripture, which is awesome to proclaim to the principalities and powers.
4) "Together for the Gospel Live" is a good reminder of what the Good News and Jesus mean to me. I need to counter the constant battering of the lie that Jesus was merely a good prophet.
5) "God of Justice," "All for Jesus," and "A Debtor to Mercy"--just rich truth.
6) "More" reminds me to ask that the people around me will yearn for more.
I also love many of the songs from the Covenant Life Scripture Memory Projects for Galatians and Philippians. Great stuff to have running through your head day and night!
And for the record, if you were to click on the link and purchase one of the albums or songs above from Amazon, I would get a few cents. (I don't get anything if you buy "Come.") But honestly, the reason that I post them on here with pictures and links is because I think the visual is nice on the blog, and I like you to know exactly what product I'm recommending. It's not about me making a few cents off of you--I promise.
