I joke about baking being one of my love languages, and this was a lemon meringue pie day. I made it early on in my spring class for my level four students.
Well, lemon meringue pie is not a hit with my local friends and students. I can only recall one in the past who has truly seemed to enjoy it. Maybe it's too sweet, or too tart… or maybe the consistency is strange to them. Or maybe they just can't handle the sugar without the bitter coffee to counter it. I need to learn this and stop making it for them. But I don't, and so I end up consuming massive amounts of pie later on my own.
(I did share with Andrea.)
