It was festive. Some of my students sang traditional songs while one drummed on the desk. I'll try to upload the video later if I can.
They also gave me heaps of gifts.
I was nervous about the huge bag of perfumes and bukhoor from one single student until a local friend who is my culture consultant assured me that that's normal. I mean, I had been wishing for some more perfumes. Be careful what you wish for!
I love these guys, even when they are ornery, and trust that they will be close to God and know his blessing on their lives!
