So convenient for me that the country I road-tripped in this weekend happens to have red and green and white in their flag and happened to be celebrating their national day this month. I couldn't have asked for more splendid Christmas lights all across our route!

"Is this English class, or is this a restaurant?" asked one of my students in class last night, surveying remnants of pumpkin pie, gingerbread, cookies, and chocolates around him. (We were celebrating a birthday.) The answer should have been "English class," except that he asked in Arabic.
