City Views

I got to hang out with the family of one of my housemate's students. Yes, you heard right: the family of the student, because the student is a male, and my housemate is not. Fortunately, his wife, daughter, and sisters welcomed us. We had a great chicken and rice and salad lunch and looked around their village. (What we would term a "neighborhood" is often called a "village" here.)

I'm noticing a common theme: When we visit, people want to show us their home, their village, and their water supply. (This is my neighborhood's water supply.) This kind of water supply, unique to here, is vital and multi-purpose. I've seen people washing clothes in it, washing a car from it (I think), splashing it in buckets on their motorbike, and filling drinking bottles with it. (A friend assured me that the drinking bottles are filled above where the clothes are washed.) It's also used for irrigation, of course.

After lunch, we rode up to this overlook to take pictures of the surrounding area. I hope these mountains never get old to me.
