- A place to call my own
- Flowing water and palm trees in my neighborhood
- A car to drive around town
- A(nother) kindred-spirit supervisor
- Dr. Pepper, A&W Root Beer, cream of tartar, and cranberry sauce in a local grocery store (and it's good ol' Texas Dr. Pepper, not the UK stuff!)
- Dr. Pepper and A&W in my fridge, just to remind me that Father loves me
- Hearing Coldplay in the grocery story (um, where am I?)
- A waffle iron and a blender
- Internet at home
- The towering mountains standing sentinel over the city
- Skype online numbers
- Phone calls from Jane and Mom
- Chances to make new friends and meet neighbors
- Anticipating a friend joining me for five weeks
- E-mails from Mom and Gretchen and Jaycee and Sarah and Elizabeth and . . . oh, I'd better stop there for fear of leaving someone out!
- Cold water
- Sunshine and blue skies
- Discovering the local corner store, with all the essentials, tucked away in the winding streets of my neighborhood
- The smells of soap and rice and incense other unidentified things that are so distinct here
- My student telling me that she and her mother will take me local clothes shopping!
- Reading Lord of the Rings late at night on my eReader. So maybe it's not always wise late-night reading when you live alone, but it's still delicious.
- Sweet times with Father
