Happy Things

  • Being loved by "strangers" in the int'l church here--whoa, humbling!
  • Real milk
  • Strawberry milk (with real milk)
  • Ritz crackers
  • Dr. Pepper
  • Air conditioning
  • A good book to read on my eReader (Unbroken, the Louis Zamperini story, which finally came available from the library, after weeks of waiting)
  • A nice pool to read my good book by. I didn't swim because--ready for this?--the weather wasn't hot enough.
  • Cereal and real milk (is this a recurring theme?)
  • Rest
  • Waiting on God
  • Hearing from God
  • Forced vacation
  • Anticipating more Arabic study
  • A nice public transportation system (bus, metro): Have Nol card, will travel.
  • Being within walking distance of McDonald's and Starbucks, even though I don't frequent those places at home. I don't frequent them here, either, but it's nice to know that I can if I want to.
  • E-mails from friends
  • Knowing that people are praying for me
  • Moji (my hostess) buying me a SIM card. It relieves separation anxiety from my buddies and makes making friends here in the city easier.
  • That Ruthie's cousin is a college friend of Aaron and Ben!
