- The arrival of Sabbath
- A clean room
- Clean laundry
- Freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, thanks to Hannah’s mom sending us Ghirardelli chocolate chips from home
- The Good Housekeeping Cookbook on my eReader that makes it so I can have recipes at my fingertips even when the internet is out
- Other Christmas gifts from Hannah’s mom—snuggly pj’s and black nylons—that arrived this week
- Anticipating more good things (from vitamins to clothes) arriving with Danny and Hannah’s friend on Monday
- Having the word of God to go to anytime
- My eReader (have I said this before?)
- A thought-provoking workshop yesterday and today
- A great community of people around me
- My language teacher treating me to breakfast
- Other friends treating me to lunch
- Pasta with olive oil and garlic, and lettuce salad
- Being able to text my family and hear back from them right away
- Learning more about history because I have to teach it
- My local friends
- A long (but fairly easy) language test behind me, and the anticipation of starting my new book
