Why This Blog Name

I'll never be Pollyanna, but my worldview says that life has purpose, and a happy heart can have a perpetual smorgasbord! This blog is my own little dinner party to celebrate both the obvious and the elusive joys of life.

In its early days, the blog celebrated a life in residential care with a heap of delightful young people. It has morphed with my jobs in social services, communications, and education. Now it peeks in on life overseas, as I learn another language and culture.

Yes, some of the jokes and highlights are "you-had-to-be-there" ones, but many are universal portrayals of human nature, complete with idiosyncrasies. Please come in and enjoy the feast!

(For background on the origin of the blog's title, see its inaugural post.)
