Happy Things

  • Steven, trying to guess which ITC staff member used to be my LIT: "Jamie . . . Matt . . ."
[my clue to him] "She wears white a lot."
    "Mrs. Rothenhauser!"
  • Kendra's Birthday!
  • Amy Price, our resident "dark haired Katheryn Morgan" harmony student: "Either before dinner or after dinner, whichever comes first!"
  • Caleb S. to Mr. Gergeni, before evening church: "Do you still have your ol' paddle? . . . Are ya usin' it?"
  • Seeing Kendra jump up and down with excitement
  • Smillie encouragement for Kendra bowling:
Nathan: "If you had bumpers, you'd be doing pretty good."
Josh: "You need those side things!"
  • Kirstin's Statue of Libery bowling stance
  • Watching Corri's bowling form--and laughing with Megan over it
  • A WONDERFUL birthday
  • Friends surprising me
  • The most beautiful roses I've ever been given!
  • Going to Eagle's Nest with good friends
  • My giant card from the Gomezes
  • Playing croquet for leaders' meeting
  • A new CD from Ruthie
  • Sitting near Colleen in church and both thinking of the Shakers when the choir sang "How Deep the Father's Love for Us"
  • Being presented a birthday cupcake so warm from the oven that the accompanying candle melted inside it
  • Anticipating a new EQUIP
  • Seeing Kimberly's Asia pictures and remembering how many former EQUIPpers are having an impact around the world
  • Mrs. Gergeni wanting to sit with me at dinner
  • The beauty of figuring out EQUIP room and team assignments with Jamie--the result being a unique blend of both of our ideas
  • Daddy having a blog!
  • My own fridge
  • Silence after time with people
  • Mrs. F. thanking me for working with her daughter
  • New khaki and blue
  • The EQUIP office full of people
  • Having LOTS of fruit to eat
  • The ability to GO ON (GOON, Penny?) because He lives
  • A quality e-mail from Gretchen
  • A phone call from Kerry
  • My own copy of I Like You from Alicia
  • Being reminded of things I've said or done and long forgotten that have impacted people's lives (who would've thunk?)
  • 13-year-old Aaron Murray not being able to understand why I would want to switch weights with him and be 117 pounds
  • Tiffany telling me, "Don't make that face; you'll get an old maid look!"

Neilski.blogspot.com. He doesn't update very often, but it's novel to think of him having a blog!

Hurray! I'm so glad you had such a good birthday! And I'm glad you got my email, which I had thoroughly intended to send to Ruthie for the whole compilation thing, but I procrastinated and had to send it directly to you...
