For the Moms

In high school, I was jealous because there was a time when I felt like some of my friends had chances to be out doing great things for God while I was stuck at home. Tomorrow I'm leaving on a pretty amazing venture with God while all of those same friends are raising children at home. Stuck at home? There are probably moments they feel that way.

At least two friends have e-mailed saying that they appreciate a chance to be a part of something like this because so much of their own work is at home with their children these days. I love that. I love that they are able to be home working with their families. This is some of the best work, if not the best work, of all! And not everyone can do it, or does do it.

I also love that I can represent them as I go. I love that they go with me through their faith and prayers and e-mails. I love that I can be their eyes and ears, that they'll be able to glimpse what God is doing without stepping out the front door. I want all of you to be able to see, feel, touch, taste and hear what I'm seeing, feeling, touching, tasting, and hearing.

So thanks, moms, for the reminder that I'm going for something greater than myself. Yes, for God, of course. But also for you, because what you are doing is just as valuable in God's economy as what I am doing, because it's what He's told you to do now. And I want you linked in with what He is doing in other places, because that's what you want, too. So moms, this one's for you.

thanks Kendra. Really...thank you. :) We're a mighty force against God's foes together for the Gospel!

I'm just catching up on your posts here . . . 'cause I'm one of the moms, right? :) I had desires and semi-plans to go where you are right before Mr. Phil came along, and I felt led in another direction . . . so I read all your stories with awe and just a little jealousy! But I love where I'm at too . . . and we will keep praying for you.
