Lynette, who, after taking me to dinner somewhere else, brought me here and demonstrated the fine art of smoking shisha (which I declined attempting)
Nicole, who showed me the old city, treated me to a smoothie, bought me pottery, and had me over for dinner . . . and whose love for her country is inspirational
Ailsa and Kathlee, who took me to breakfast, showed me part of another old city, were infinitely patient as I shopped for souvenirs, and answered many, many questions for me
Ali, my roommate who fast turned friend. She has been all over the globe and has so many experiences I can learn from. I hope our paths intersect again soon.
Part of a great family I spent a lot of time with. These boys are much fun!
I'll never be Pollyanna, but my worldview says that life has purpose, and a happy heart can have a perpetual smorgasbord! This blog is my own little dinner party to celebrate both the obvious and the elusive joys of life.
In its early days, the blog celebrated a life in residential care with a heap of delightful young people. It has morphed with my jobs in social services, communications, and education. Now it peeks in on life overseas, as I learn another language and culture.
Yes, some of the jokes and highlights are "you-had-to-be-there" ones, but many are universal portrayals of human nature, complete with idiosyncrasies. Please come in and enjoy the feast!
(For background on the origin of the blog's title, see its inaugural post.)
