Happy Things

From Matt, Abby, Kari, and me . . . .

  • Matt comparing me to his dog
  • Joel "raising the roof" during bell choir practice
  • Leaders who persist at staying in touch with their former LITs
  • Autumn and Micah Williams discussing whose responsibility it was to get Alyse out of bed for the fire alarm-during the fire alarm, while Alyse was upstairs, asleep in bed
  • "I'm not used to treating a relationship like a MOST plan!" -Lydia, on the idea of planning progress for an LIT
  • Hearing children singing confident praise to God in church
  • Situations that humble me
  • Having dinner with the Emerichs
  • Former leaders who want to stay in touch
  • Realizing that a vision I had 10 years ago was implemented and is still touching lives
  • That others close to me are doing now what I've had a burden for for a lot of years-thinking about that when I hear the song "How Can We Reach a World We Never Touch?"
  • Bopping back into ITC occasionally and seeing people
  • Jessica praying that God would shut off our brains so we could go to sleep one night!
  • Being called "hefa" (boss)-sounds like a heifer
  • Driving home with Jessica Griffith at Thanksgiving
  • Ethan, a four-year-old at church, up on stage with his dad because he had been asked to retell the story of Samuel: (to his dad) "You use the microphone, and I won't."
  • "I forgot my last name!" -Kevin, after being asked how his last name was pronounced
  • "All the LITs are in here!" -Kevin, after spying Jamie, Matt, and me all in the kitchen doing brunch chores
  • Liz, on life at the ITC: "I feel like a fish in an aquarium . . . I killed off my goldfish because I felt sorry for him!"
    Angela: "What's the analogy?"
  • Trent trying to convince me that it is very possible that I'll be married and moved away from Indy before he returns in February from Christmas break (and willing to bet money on it, because "all I have to do is pay the guy to elope more than I'm betting")
  • "So, when I get out [of Character Suite], every ten minutes, I can call home?" -Susanna

Eloping sounds . . . interesting . . . lol.
Glad to hear that you haven't dropped off the face of the earth after all. I was kind of worried there for a bit . . . ;-)

A happy thing for me this week was going ice skating with Isaac for his birthday present. It was more fun for him than for me, I was all worried that I'd mess up my knee again. And...now Isaac is 13 :) yay! just thought you would want to know. ;)
