Happy Things

Contributed by Rachel, Matt, and myself . . .

  • Joel informing me that Josh is "antitheist" pink. (When Micah heard that, "His vocabulary is spontageous - it's catching.")
  • Not getting hit by a tornado, even though strong winds sucked curtains out of the auditorium while the fire alarm was going off and the doors were unlocked
  • Being excited to talk to people on the street about God
  • Visiting longer at church than Ruthie!
  • Being entertained by Adriel's antics in church
  • Mexican food
  • Getting quoted on Micah's Xanga
  • A new girl LIT!
  • Getting to talk a LOT with Matt!
  • Having Dr. Juday as our LIT family counselor
  • An incredible mother [Nina's comment: "Yeah, I have one of those, too."]
  • God answering my heart's desire to go out witnessing Saturday night
  • Line running with Kendra!
  • Conversations with Kendra during line running: Rachel (pondering): "Why is it that all the guys who seem to stay on staff here for a long time - Matt, Todd, Brandon - have a perpetual little boy attitude and can't sit still but always want to move around and talk?"
Kendra: "Maybe they all need to have ADD to last here that long."
  • Reliving the thrill of breaking curfew due to emergency sirens (brings back memories of South Campus during construction periods!)
  • Having a good friend in whom I can confide
  • Josh getting on Micah about giving me chocolate, claiming that since he (Josh) is a mercy, it's disturbing to him when all the other office girls receive chocolate to put in their desktop candy dishes and I'm the only girl not being given any
  • Savoring all the ways the above scenario could be completely misquoted and taken out of context, then finally deciding to act mature and write it straight. (Either that, or a sad lack of courage and creativity to "rearrange" words!)
  • Matt to group: "All right, what was the coolest thing you've seen so far?" (Air Force Museum)
    Jonathan: "Me."
  • Mrs. Rothenhauser to group: "Here are your scavenger hunt papers. Now, just so you know, you can use them however you want."
Tim: (excitedly) "We can EAT them?" (Typical guy comment -MS)
  • Abbie Norcross telling Ashley to get her a to-go box for breakfast because she didn't want people to make her stand up, then sing for her on her birthday should she go down to breakfast
