Things to Be Happy About (Day 2)

 *Homemade granola

*That the weather is a little bit cooler this week--highs of 102 feel so much nicer than highs of 111

*That my hip pain is less today

*Rain again

*Seeing my friends' wadi pictures that they post on Whatsapp

*My latest comfort food--garlic chick peas with mashed potatoes, made with garlic from my former student T's farm. "T's farm" was the running class joke with my Level 4 boys last year; every other answer had something to do with T's farm. But T's family really has a nice farm, which he proudly showed me last month, and then they gave me garlic and onions from it. I am rich.

*Outlining a new English workshop

*When people text me out of the blue, even if it's because they want things from me

*My second-ever Arabic teacher voice messaging me out of the blue today, after I dreamed about her recently. It still amazes me that someone can ask my advice in Arabic and I can reply in Arabic. And when did this happen that I learned Arabic? Oh yeah, for the past ten years. Which reminds me...

*My ten-year anniversary living overseas is TODAY! I had to look up my flight itinerary to confirm. I left the US on August 24th and landed the night of the 25th. I would choose it another ten years. I had no idea how much I'd love it until I arrived. I loved it two months in, and I still love it.
