My sister was here from halfway around the world. How could I not take her to Dubai? And there were three more seats in the car, so we brought along three more gals for the ride! Each time I go, I'm getting better and better at showing people the sights of the city. We arrived Friday morning and hit up a local expat fellowship, which I didn't photograph but was probably the highlight of the trip. Then we ventured out into the heat. But no one wanted to be outside for long, so it was mostly the tour from the car, with a few quick hops out for photo shoots.
Here, by the waterfront.
Next to the Atlantis Hotel. It was nice not to be covered.
Then to Souq Al Madina, which was a first for me. It's basically a mall patterned after the old-fashioned souq, but it was a perfect alternative for a humid August day. We would literally count and run outside into the heat for pictures before ducking back into the A/C.
Note the seven-star Burj Al Abra in the background.
I'm not a shisha smoker, but I love the colors.
Still inside the Souq Al Madina.
Um, Tin Tin?
Of course, Krispy Kreme donuts are part of the charm of Dubai. I'm doing penance here for not getting my mom to Krispy Kreme when she was here.

You haven't "done" Dubai until you've ridden a traditional abra on the Creek.
