After a lovely two and a half months at home with family and green grass and trees, I'm back in the land of sand. If I attempt an ambitious blog post, either it won't get finished, or other important things won't. So instead, I'll let suffice a few
Thoughts of the Day
Thoughts of the Day
- When it's 113 degrees out, I get thirsty all the time. Thank God for water, and for Burt's Bees chapstick.
- Cold salads are ideal lunches, and cold watermelon is a great mid-afternoon snack.
- When it's this hot out, you turn the water tap to "hot," to draw on the lukewarm water from your heating tank. Because if you turned on "cold," you could get scalded.
- Reading the Word in another language is a fabulous way to open up new insights. Like how the word for "salvation" is the same word as the everyday expression meaning "that's it," "it's over." It is finished.
- I love LuLu (Hypermarket). Going shopping is currently my social event of the week. Huh? Well, I don't really talk to a lot of people, but I see them. Which is more than I do when I sit at home and study, or procrastinate on the way to studying.
- I seem to post to my blog more frequently when I have studying to procrastinate on.
- Good teachers are magical, especially good language teachers. They are patient and don't make you feel stupid about your errors, and they (good teachers) are funny. Well, probably your errors are too, but you'll never know it.
- Thank God for the driver who honked at me, then got out of his car to wave at me when I pulled into the wrong lane at the construction spot where it's hard to tell which lane goes where. Ugh. I felt so stupid. But I would have felt far more stupid to meet traffic coming fast the other direction in a few hundred more yards.
- I sing to my air conditioning, I love it so much.

The location: Glad to know.
The heat: And I thought two days of 104 was bad!
The tap: !!!
The serenaded air conditioning: :O)
I think I would sing to my air conditioning too if it was that hot out!
