Well, the happy things never entirely disappeared, but the time or motivation to notice them and record them has been lacking. Fortunately, the Fairwood Bible Institute students have returned, and one remark this evening was grand enough to shake me out of my happy-things lethargy. Actually, there were multiple amusing remarks; I'll start with the runner up and build up to the grand prize. (And yes, I realize that this is just a foretaste of what will be in the yearbook.)
Runner up:
Ben Hol., about six feet from Daniel, staring into Aaron's viewfinder, trying to figure out how to use Aaron's new zoom lens by focusing on the screen on Daniel's camera: "Where are you?!"
Grand prize:
Daniel, gazing toward the girls on the other side of the room in Sabbath meeting: "I'm thankful for a nice view . . . [then realizing that not everyone was clear on which view he meant] . . . of the mountain."
Right, Daniel. The mountain.
