Happy Things

Mostly from me, one from Faith . . .
  • The thought of Tony [at the mission] attempting to "mentor" Zuleima
  • Leaping over the Culinary girls in the hallway in a characteristic moment of hyper-ness
  • Playing Dutch Blitz and Phase-10 in Character Suite (and trying to get a positive-number score in Blitz)
  • Writing a special message in Zulei's book at her request
  • Being inspired to worship at pure truth while walking in the auditorium and listening to a Mark Dever message
  • Talking to Craig on Skype
  • When things I share in leaders' meeting resonate
  • When God teaches me new things or reminds me of old things that weren't necessarily on my agenda to learn
  • A nice note from my 6th grade teacher
  • Being caught up on Learning Experiences
  • A friend request from Daniel Shaker
  • Having a defined role at the mission
  • Catching glimpes of the carefree, crazy, dream-filled me :-)
  • Paul David Tripp's newest book, Quest for More
  • Having songs come back to me that I've sung only once
  • Reviewing old Scripture memory passages
  • Autumn scurrying under the bed because she thought I was going to kill her for almost deleting Lydia's 10-page paper
  • A new cell phone
  • Lauren B. being back
  • Lydia B.'s diligence in making sure that I have the vehicle keys I need
  • Praying at table team for believers in closed nations
  • Having time to walk, and incentive, because I have so many good sermons to listen to!
  • The new "Spirit of Revival" issue on rest
  • Naomi understanding some feelings I've been dealing with
  • Sara's family being here
  • Mr. Williams conducting the girls singing in dish pit
  • Thinking yesterday and today that I missed Dan Grose, then answering the phone in the kitchen when he called and getting to catch up with him!
  • Jessica, in the kitchen, loudly: "I'm saving up to buy a wedding dress! . . . I mean a bridesmaid dress!"
Mr. Williams, sweeping floors: "What's this?"
Jessica (embarrassed): "You didn't hear anything, Mr. Williams!"
Mr. Williams: "[It] sounds good to me!"
  • One little boy on the cemetery tour to another little boy, both looking at the stone side of the Gothic Chapel and demonstrating the universality of little boys: "Grayson, how would you climb that?"
  • I'm happy that we were cleaning 4th floor and something funny happened . . . Sara was telling Mary that we were trying to see if the hair we found in the bathtubs would grow a head--proving Evolution. Then Sara's mom walked by . . .
  • Lydia H.'s Spanish students mixing up the words "taboo" and "vodoo," and being rather confused when she suggested that they play Taboo in one of their classes
  • Watching Lydia B. and Lauren B. walk side by side on breakdown--one slow and steady, the other perky and hyper-ish
  • A nice note from an 8th grade teacher
  • Autumn thinking that Annabella told her to "shut up" when Autumn asked Annabella what their chore was. (Annabella told her, "set up," and repeated it twice, I think, before she realized what Autumn thought she was saying.)

I love that comment about the little boys at the cemetary - you have to love little guys! Any new Johnny stories?
