Happy Things

Encouraged by the positive comments on and about her blog, Kendra decided to update without waiting three months . . .
  • Mr. Ritchie giving me ideas, in a conspiratorial whisper, for how to turn ice cream sandwiches into a gourmet dessert
  • Being cash-limited--it's so much more fun than being rich, and it births far more creativity, which I thrive on!
  • Catching up with people and finding out where they're really at
  • Being reminded of what makes me truly happy (working with young people, for one thing)
  • Being able to take all of my burdens to God
  • Line running during conferences
  • Meeting really nice new people
  • Being busy
  • The cash envelope system and learning to manage my money better
  • "Oh no! We robbed the wrong people! We're Christians, too!" --the response the McBrides got from their Ecuadorian kidnappers when they realized that they had kidnapped a pastor whose suitcase was full of Basic Seminar books
  • "Thank the Lord, I don't." --Chef Grose's response when Dr. Paine asked him, at the end of a health conference week of long meals, if he had any announcements
  • Cramming six people into the Lincoln (by accident!)
  • Walking into Lauren's room and finding her chortling over the online Happy Book
  • Getting better at doing dish pit
  • Arby's and Coldstone with Lydia H.
  • Rev. Pokone's counseling sessions that inevitably refresh me!
  • Tying a paper towel roll to Zuleima's apron strings
  • A new LIT girl
