Happy Things

These are from Jessica G., who now shares my office and my room, and me . . .

·          Lydia asking me what I have done since I graduated, then telling me that my life was entertaining

·          A young person distraught over Wisdom Booklets: "I feel sorry for you homeschoolers. You guys have it tough."

·          I was in Learning Center trying to explain Joel's English to him. I asked him if he understood, and he looked up at me with a very perplexed look. "No, you don't." He, being very surprised asked, "Are you a prophet?!?" I said, "No, why?" He said, "Well, you knew what I was thinking before I even said anything!"

·          Singing in QR

·          Trying to convince Jessica G. that Valentine's Day is a spiritual holiday because God is love

·          Kendra to me: "Hi, Ed!" Mr. Grose responding, "Hi, Kendra. How are you?"

·          My dad being here for the Fathers' Conference

·          The men at the Fathers' Conference clamoring for ice cream two nights in a row

·          Dad listening to me, praying with me, and advising me at a hard time

·          Doing line running and breakdown with the girls

·          The happy spirit in the kitchen during cleanup

·          Clayton Roth. telling Mary, "When you're finished with The Bondage Breaker, give it to Jessica." (Jessica was upset at some teasing)

·          Pondering the business card on the bulletin board advertising for "future son-in-laws" for a man's daughters (and Mrs. Gergeni telling me, "And it's your dad's room number!" It wasn't.)

·          Telling Jessica that I liked having a picture screen saver because it reminded me to pray for people, just as my picture rolled onto the screen

·          Lydia referring to my precious Postum as "Compost" because she couldn't remember what it was called

·          The four snow angels in the parking lot created by Sarah, Naomi, Jessica G., and me

·          Five inches of snow

·          Random subjects in leaders' meeting

·          Taking care of Elizabeth and Victoria for the first time

·          New memory verses to work on

·          Matt making me laugh hard

·          Warm bread in Jill's room

·          God loving me enough to chasten me

"The men at the Fathers' Conference clamoring for ice cream two nights in a row."

You obviously didn't have to scoop all of that ice cream.
