Thanks for Praying

Thanks so much for praying for our 5-Day Club a couple of weeks back! God gave us open doors with the kids and their parents, and Jamie has initiated ongoing clubs at Reid Place. We plan to return weekly. We can't go this week, due to the massive ATI regional conference taking place here this week, but I miss the kids already, especially Jalen of the toothy grin.

Last week, Daniel S. had a really good talk with Nick, one of the troublemakers in the club. Nick was soft at the beginning of club, but almost as soon as we started, he began being a pill. Daniel had to pick him up from the front of the blanket and move him to the back. After hearing about Daniel's conversation with him afterward, though, I realize that the behavior is a pattern of trying to prove to himself that people will reject him. (He wanted Daniel to be sure and know that he had been kicked out of preschool.)

So please keep praying for the kids. Jermaine, Jeremy, Antoine, Andres, Anfernee, Tiesha, Stanisha, Charles, Nick, Dustin, Jack, Devon, Heaven, and Jalen are our regulars, plus or minus a couple.

A few more prayer requests:

• For the conference this week (Tuesday through Friday)--that we'll make it through in God's strength and joy, and that our guests' hearts will be touched and encouraged by God's Spirit Himself (not by visions of a program).
• For the details of EQUIP graduation and other activities planned for next week to come together last minute.
• For direction for the future of the EQUIP program, and that God will continue sending the right laborers to the fall class.
• That God will lift burdens for those weighed down with impossibilities.
