Vocabulary

"Mingy, adj. Informal. 1. Small in quantity 2. Mean and stingy"

Isn't that a great word? I discovered it as I was cruising my dictionary earlier today in search of precise words for an accounting paper. It made me miss Wordly Wise and folks whose vocabulary actually dents the number of words in the dictionary. It made me miss Dan Murray, who spent a young adult retreat in the Hills repeating the same two new vocabulary words (though I can't remember what they were), in different contexts. It made me miss Mrs. Godfrey, who made sure that people used words correctly.

Mingy, mingy, mingy. I'm so glad I got to use it on my blog.

Mrs. Godrey was also very good about encouraging us to remove the syllables "um" and "ah" from our vocabulary.
